It has been a long but very fascinating journey working on this project. I recall visiting their factory a few years ago, when I noticed their beautiful canteen chair, which was already out of production. I somehow resonated with the image of the brand and this chair. This impression grew on me, and I felt it would be worth trying to redesign the spirit of this canteen chair for home. It had a charm and simple happiness in its presence that I tried to capture in our work.
In the end, I named this chair, Cantinetta, which also has a reference to “La Cantinetta “, a trattoria where I often have lunch with my team and friends. Cantinetta also means a small canteen, conveying a family moment at the table. The chairs come in various seating materials, including upholstered seats, wood, and papercord. They are also available with and without armrests. I also added a green lacquer finish, which is reminiscent of La Cantinetta.
Tables come in various sizes as well.
